How much does Vitality cost?

Your monthly fee depends on the number of members on Vitality Health: For a single member, R305 For a member plus one dependant,* R370 For a member plus two or more dependants, R430 This membership fee covers all dependants on your Discovery Health Medical Scheme plan or all qualifying lives insured on your Discovery Life policy. Dependants on the following Discovery products are automatically added as beneficiaries on your Vitality Health membership: Discovery Life Plan (excluding those covered under the Parent Severe Illness Benefit) Qualifying products administered by Discovery Health or its subsidiaries With Discovery Life Group Risk, you can choose which dependants you would like added to your Vitality Health membership. Can I cancel Vitality at any time?

You need to give 30 days' notice, starting on the 1st of any month, to cancel your Vitality Health membership. If your Vitality Health membership was due to a 3months free campaign, you need to give at least seven days' notice before the end of the third month.

Will my family also be able to participate in Vitality?

If you have listed them as dependants on your Discovery Health plan or Discovery Life policy, they will automatically be part of Vitality at an additional fee.

From when can I use the benefits of Vitality?

You can use your Vitality Health benefits from the start date of your Vitality Health policy if you join the Vitality Health programme within three months of joining:

A qualifying medical scheme or product administered by Discovery Health (Pty) Ltd
Discovery Life
Group Life

However, this excludes your Vitality Health Travel saving.

You have to wait three months from the start date your Vitality Health policy before you can use your Vitality Health travel saving. If you add a dependant on your Vitality Health membership, they will share your travel waiting period.

How much does the gym cost?

You can get active for less with Vitality:

Up to 75% saving on a monthly gym contract with the Vitality gym benefit	Vitality Pay as you Gym
Pay a once- off gym activation fee equal to one month's full retail rate of your gym contract for each adult 18 years or older at Virgin Active or Planet Fitness. Thereafter, save up to 75% on your monthly gym fees. To find out the retail rates, contact your nearest gym. You will also need to pay for a small access card or tag fee.	Visit any Virgin Active or Planet Fitness gym on a pay per visit basis. Make use of Pay as you Gym from only R75 to R100 per visit with Discovery Pay.

Will I get any Vitality membership cards?

You won't get a Vitality membership card. You can use your identity number to activate all your benefits online on the Discovery website, in the Discovery app or at our partners.
